ACCOMMODATION IN THE ROOM, SHORT BRIEFING WITH DELIVERY OF USEFUL ITINERARY MATERIALS, DINNER AND OVERNIGHT STAY

The itinerary that we propose is a bike ride along the small villages of Salento. A ring route that, starting from the sea, goes towards Vereto, the old Messapian city, then goes down to Patù and passing through Giuliano arrives in Barbarano, with its complex of Leuca Piccola. After a few rides, here is the sanctuary of Santa Marina in Ruggiano and a few kilometers away the oldest organ in Puglia, hosted in the church of San Nicola Magno in Salve. A short stop in Masseria Santu Lasi and we will be ready to leave to return to the hotel, where a rich dinner and a well-deserved rest will attend us.

Our traveler will move from Capo di Leuca to Terra d’Arneo, first by train, then by bike and finally by bus. The trains of Ferrovie Sud-Est will immerse him in an ancient atmosphere. In a path between Corigliano, Galatina and Copertino he will visit castles, churches, he will admire the Baroque of which exude palaces and squares and finally delight his palate with the pasticciotto leccese, one of the symbols of this beautiful land.

Lecce is wonderful from any point of view, it’s the baroque city par excellence, it’s an open-air museum, Lecce is an indescribable emotion. Entering from Porta Rudiae, we will walk down the narrow streets of the old town and in a path between palaces and churches we will visit Piazza Duomo, basilica di Santa Croce, Chiesa di Sant'Irene, piazza Sant'Oronzo and then palaces, papier-mâché shops, theaters... it will be a dive into beauty, that characteristic beauty of the Leccese stone, that only this city makes you feel and that proudly shows the world.

In a ride without any hurry, immersed in a nature that can be rational and tidy and also wild, but always lush, our traveler will move to the south, through places full of history, sometimes more traditional than expected, such as the baroque neretino, sometimes more eccentric than imagined, such as Vincent’s hermitage, all testimonies of a colorful Salento, steeped in history, in traditions, but also rich in innovation and eccentricity, perhaps on the footprints of that eclecticism that characterizes this part of the world.
